Kitchen Islands

Kitchen Islands

Traditional kitchens are predominantly installed against a kitchen wall, however kitchen islands are becoming more and more popular over recent years.

Obviously it is advantageous if your kitchen is large enough to accommodate a kitchen island, however whether the island is large or small a kitchen island has many benefits.

Most of our customers want a kitchen island not only to complete the design of their kitchen but also to provide them with more cupboard spaces.

As well as providing you with more cupboard space a kitchen island can also be a useful addition to your kitchen by either integrating a hob, cooker, sink or other large kitchen appliances such as dishwasher or oven.

Obviously by having this addition certain utilities will need to be sought such as electricity, gas and water, however in the long run the addition of these facilities in your kitchen island can be very advantageous when you consider the space and kitchen work surfaces you will be provided with.

As well as these facilities, space and work surface and obviously if your kitchen is big enough, at one side of your kitchen island you could create a breakfast bar.

By having extra addition it can also become a focal point for a busy family whereby children can sit around the bar whilst you cook and are busy in the kitchen.  For those whom don’t have children, this addition can become a great focal point when entertaining as you can cook, drink and entertain all at the same time whilst you engage with your family and friends.

Whether you have enough space in your existing kitchen or you would simply like to plan your new kitchen more appropriately to maximise your kitchen space, give Milestone a call.
